Ibought an A4 with a non-working speedometer and odometer. Scanned the codes and found: 16885 - Vehicle Speed Sensor: Implausible Signal I replaced the sensor, but the speedometer still didn't work. I performed an output test on the cluster with VAG-COM and found that all the gauges were working properly so it wasn't the cluster.
Youwill need a; 1/ hook tool, 2/ An 8mm & 5.5mm socket with a short extension bar. 3/ small flatblade screw driver. 4/ Small Torx driver (cant remember the size) Follow these instructions, the only bit I really struggled with was removing the air vents which is not clear in the instructions.
1 Remove the plastic cover at the bottom of the wiper blade (it just pulls off) 2. Pull the jet nozzle off (again just pulls off - may be stiff) 3. Sincethe touchpad and the MMI buttons are not working, the screen is stuck on the Telephone screen. When i press the manual up/down button on the screen goes off but does not physically move. I check the fuse (labelled infotainment screen in the manual) and its #8 on the driver-side cockpit according to the manual.
