Got my driver's side tail light replaced by dealer yesterday. Dealer would not replace passenger side because he said BMW would not cover it. Oh well, I have two more yrs of warranty. I'm sure if it is defective, it will fail by then. And if it fails after the warranty, I'll just replace it. p.s.: This is a known issue.

The rear window release could also likely be the button itself on the rear wiper, as that's a common problem too.
The irritating thing is there are several perfectly competent indies specialising in BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche that have full dealership diagnostic gear and franchised trained technicians that could do the job in a fraction of the time with far less inconvenience to me but BMW will not supply them the parts on an FOC for recall basis.
Removed the heated rear window-relay today, and the charging light went out. According to the Haynes-manual wiring diagram it looks like there is a connection between the charging circuit light and the heated rear window. I will try to install a new relay tomorrow, and hopefully the problem will be solved. relative4 Discussion starter ยท Oct 16, 2017. I have a 335xi E90 from 2007/06. The rear window defroster is not working. Infuriatingly, the K13 relay is not removable from the A4010 behind-glove junction box after 2007/03, at least not without removing the junction box. I've verified there is no voltage at the F46 fuse. 3. Missing Terminal Edges. There is a chance that you are missing terminal edges on your window heat grid. If this happens to be the case, you can use a soldering gun to reattach them. 4. Battery. The battery could be the problem if you find that other aspects of the car are not working in addition to the defroster. From what Im beginning to understand, the wiper becomes stuck due to rust, corrosion and lack of grease. this will eventually burn the motor out. The armature needs to be patiently freed with WD40, or other penetrating fluid, then greased so it moves freely with the glass up (not engaged with the motor drive gear) just finish the top part first by keep it rolled down little bit, then roll it up and finish the bottom part. do not roll the windows for a 5-6 days, let it dry. test it out once. you already have experience of wrapping, you should be fine. i did my e93 driver/passenger window with the glass rolling up n down.
