I should learn to shut my mouth; I just went down to test fit my bike on my new roof rack, and heard a creaking from the bottom bracket when I hopped on. Found both of my bottom backet bearings were backed out of the frame quite a bit, mainly on the drive side! Fox F80 is a good choice if you ask me. Anything longer you will mess up your geometry. My 93 zaskar handles technical turns very badly with 100mm travel. Stick with 80mm. If I were to ride rooty rocky trail then I would consider suspension fork rather than carbon fiber - which is a good choice as long as trail doesn't get gnary.
